Anime Channel

Anime has been an influential part of many of our lives. At IsekaiCon, we celebrate Japanese animation by using a platform called Umi.party to host anime showings. Umi.party – created by Zach Bruggeman – is a service that pairs with CrunchyRoll Premium accounts and enables multiple people to watch anime together from the comfort of their own home.

During the entirety of IsekaiCon, volunteers will be playing anime through Umi.party for attendees to gather, watch, and chat in the dedicated discord channel about a medium many of us admire. Want to take a break from the rest of the convention? Come watch anime with us!

How do I join?

At the start of each showing, the Host will post a link in our Discord to where you can watch along. Click the link and log in with your Crunchyroll Premium account to join the fun! The Host will start and stop the show – all you need to do is sit back and watch, and maybe chat with some friends, so jump into the Anime-Party Discord room below!

All links will be saved in the Pinned Messages in our Discord room – if you are unable to see them, just ask the host to re-link it for you.

Our Anime Discord Channel

How do I access the IsekaiCon Discord directly?

You can find the link to the IsekaiCon Discord at the top of our page!

This way you can stay up to date on all of the convention chatter, as well as the Anime chat. However, we also have the Anime chat constantly streaming on this page right here!

How do I watch anime with IsekaiCon through the Umi channel?

To watch anime with the convention, you will need to have access to a Crunchyroll Premium account. While we are sad that this may limit our attendees in their ability to access this content, it is the only legal way that the convention can stream to this many convention attendees at once.

Unfortunately, a free Crunchyroll account will not be able to access the Umi channel. However, if you have not used Crunchyroll before, you are eligible to sign up for a free two week trial! If this is something you are interested in, please check out Crunchyroll’s website here to sign up for a free trial.

Once you have access to a Crunchyroll Premium account, you will need to download the Umi channel plugin to your web browser. The Umi Channel works best with Chrome or FireFox, as they will allow you to download the plugins to your browser that you will need to run Umi.party.
